Goji juice is a powerful super food for your health

Hello-

Today, I wanted to share some info about goji berries and goji juice.

Goji Juice has been touted as one of the most popular nutritional supplements in the world. Manufactured from the mythical goji berry, it is widely heralded as the most nutritionally dense food on the planet.

Goji juice is packed with antioxidants, amino acids, polysaccharides, and many other nutrients that promote health benefits from vitality and energy to endurance, longevity, restful sleep, and a general sense of calm and well being.

Drinking goji juice has been used as a way to help with weight loss for a number of years. Although it won’t mysteriously vaporize the fat cells from your body, it is said to curb your appetite as well as speed up the fat burning process.

No wonder this stuff is so expensive!

And because Goji juice is currently exploding in popularity in the West there are some companies that have jumped on the bandwagon with knock-off and spin-off products of lesser quality that the higher quality Himalayan goji berries.

So do your due diligence when shopping for goji juice.  You want to make sure you’re getting pure goji berries instead of some diluted watered down version with very little goji berries in it.

And then enjoy 2-4 ounces a day and start feeling the benefits.

Eat fewer calories and live longer

How to lower your calorie intake

The foods of the food pyramid are necessary for our optimal health. But in what quantities and which ones are the best? These are questions that must be tailored to our individual needs. And the answers will benefit our unique needs. Healthy for me, is not the same as healthy for you. Everyone’s nutritional needs are different, and everyone’s level of calorie consumption is different.

As you study the food pyramid published by the USDA, we can examine some of the better foods, and try to decide what particular formulas make us the healthiest on average. The average person needs an hour of physical exercise, six to eleven servings of grains, two to four servings of fruit, three to five servings of vegetables, two to three servings of meat, two to three servings of milk, and enough water to make it all work.

The guidelines found on the general chart of the pyramid are as listed above, and this could be the formula for an eighty year old man, or a fifteen year old girl. The recommended daily calorie intake is just as vague and generalized as the daily food intake pyramid. Can you see how this might not work for either one? When a guideline published is this general, it is up to the individual to determine what food regimen will keep them at their healthiest, provide the caloric intake necessary, but not excessive.

According to the guides published by the USDA, calorie needs vary from one age group to another, one gender to another. So how do you determine what your individual needs are? You can setup a journal for recording your daily caloric intake for about a month. Make a note of your weight each day. If you don’t gain any weight during the course of that month, you’re eating your recommended calorie level in order to maintain your weight. Now, take that calorie information, use the food pyramid and comprise a combination of foods that will help you achieve this recommended daily intake, and still be enough to be filling and please the palette. You now have an individualized healthy eating plan.

If your goal is to cut calorie consumption, you would be among the latest wave of health conscious individuals who believe that a low calorie intake keeps us in our healthiest condition. There have been studies done with rats that lend credibility to this claim. Lowering the rat’s body weight by only 10% yielded a longer life; longer life spans were noted for up to a 30% cut in daily calorie intake. Anything past that point produced unhealthy consequences. Now, exactly how this translates into human life spans, we’re not sure.

Once the importance of a particular food plan is understood by us, it is a simple as learning our multiplication tables. We simply memorize the food requirements, and incorporate it into our daily intake as needed. As you take the time to incorporate a healthy food plan, don’t’ forget the necessity of exercise in our daily lives. In order to keep our bodies healthy and functioning as expected, we need to keep it fit. This comes through proper amounts of exercise

This guide will not work for Brother Bill or Sister Sue, but it is the unique blueprint for you. It is at this point in the process that we seem to lack the direction to finish what the government started. Maybe we need to incorporate these techniques into a class taught at school. Maybe this would give our young people the direction and tools they need in order to begin such a process, make it a lifetime habit, and pass it along to their children. Whatever the formula, your food intake and level of calorie content, will affect your general overall health everyday. Overeating can bring on obesity, under eating can bring about anemia; you need to find that one right guide for you, and plan, plan, plan.

Acid Alkaline Foods

Hello-

Today I wanted to share some information with you about acid alkaline foods.  Do you remember back in high school chemistry when you learned about acids and bases?  Well alkaline is another name for bases.

Healthy people are slightly alkaline. Sick and unhealthy people are linked to acidic body environments. Healthy cells naturally have a slightly alkaline pH level, and since acid and alkaline are chemical opposites, high acid levels destroy cells.  The goals is to have an alkaline pH level.  Balancing your blood’s pH can have an amazing transformation toward good health.

You want to try and balance your acid/alkaline foods for a 75% alkaline to 25% acid ratio. Alkaline foods build and tone organs, nerves and glands, keeping us calm and reflective (examples are sweet and sour fruit, green vegetables, milk, yogurt and lemons).

Green leafy vegetables are a great example of alkaline foods. Leafy vegetables are the best for your health.

Stimulants like tobacco, coffee, tea, alcohol, soft drinks and drugs are extremely acidifying and should be avoided or minimized as much as possible.  Additionally, we eat acid producing processed foods like white flour and sugar.  Artificial chemical sweeteners like NutraSweet, Sweet ‘N Low, Equal, or Aspartame, are also extremely acid forming.  When you cut back on these acid producing foods and substitute alkaline foods your body will feel better.

Calcium is one of the minerals used to “buffer” the acids and eliminate them from the body.  This explains why if your body is too acidic, it will get calcium from your bones which is detrimental to your health.  Foods high in calcium are yogurt, low fat milk, tofu, cabbage and some cottage cheeses.

Eating more of the most highly alkaline foods and less of the most acid foods can make a huge difference in your overall alkaline reserves. Calcium, magnesium and potassium are the most important alkaline minerals. Eat less “junk food which is acid on the body” and eat more “healthy alkaline food which is alkaline on the body”.

Best foods to eat and foods to avoid

Hello-

Today, I wanted to share some foods to eat and some foods to avoid.

One of the biggest foods to avoid is sugar for many reasons.   Sugars are known to cause weight gain. You should avoid these products, and using alternatives like sugar substitutes and water can be useful. Sugar is known to be one of the most common foods in terms of weight gain. You should avoid sugar and use other things instead like honey or Splenda.

Fats and sugars make a person crave more and more while providing energy that is not sustainable in the long run.  Complex carbohydrates can give a person long-term energy without feeling sluggish, tired and hungry.

Eating a variety of foods helps ensure that you get the nutrients your body needs every day.  Following MyPyramid.gov can help you create a balanced, healthy diet by giving you suggestions for the types and amounts you should have from all food groups each day.  Eating a variety of grains, especially whole grains, as well as a variety of fruits and vegetables daily is important.  When choosing your diet, make sure it is low in saturated fats and cholesterol, also moderate in total fat.

The best advice is to focus on eating less and making healthy food choices. Try to eat more fruits and vegetables (5 to 9 servings a day), dried beans, and whole grains.
