    There is an energy model of being that states we have X amount of energy to work with in our daily life. Further that it takes energy to liberate the resources present in food so to preserve energy hence increase energy for living, healing and life extension we need to eat those foods that are easiest to assimilate with the most available nutrients. That would be vegtables and fruits followed by smaller amounts of protein preferably fish, turkey then meat. Anything hard to process such as fried or processed foods, preservatives, chemicals, alcohol and so forth should be avoided. All that said a life so pure might be a miserable one but a compromise may add many happy healthy years. Another theory says eat and enjoy your life for regarding the years it is not always a matter of quantity but more a matter of quality. I say moderation, common sense and your beliefs are the key.
